Lasaniya Bataka
A spicy Gujarati garlic potato dish packed with bold Kathiyawadi flavors.
Ingredients
- 4 medium potatoes (boiled & cubed)
- 12–15 garlic cloves
- 3 dry red chilies
- 2 tbsp oil
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- ½ tsp cumin seeds
- ½ tsp turmeric powder
- 1 tsp red chili powder
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves
- Lemon juice
Recipe
- Grind garlic and dry red chilies into a coarse paste.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds.
- Add garlic-chili paste and sauté until aromatic.
- Add turmeric, chili powder, coriander powder, and salt.
- Add boiled potatoes and mix well.
- Roast for 5–7 minutes until spicy masala coats the potatoes.
- Add lemon juice and garnish with coriander.
Special Tips
- Use desi garlic for stronger flavor.
- Slightly crush potatoes for better masala coating.
- Add extra dry red chilies for Kathiyawadi-style heat.
- Serve hot for the best spicy taste.
